As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Hello friends, and welcome. We made it through another Saturday, and here we are, together again. One of the things that I have struggled with for the last several decades is staying fit, particulalry since I got home from the hospital this last time. A close loved one decided I needed a little help with that, and introduced me to website and ap that I was actually able to use. I had known since college that there were wheelchair forms for yoga, because I had signed up for a class in my Sophomore year, only to be told that though i was correct, and that there were yoga forms for wheelies like me, the professor in question didn’t know them, and had no interest in learning. After that, I must have swept the idea out of my mind, because until I was introduced to Down Dog.
The people behind Down Dog are dedicated to bringing yoga to -everyone.-. That doesn’t mean just the able bodied, or TABs, as we called them in school, and it doesn’t mean just the sighted. With Down Dog, you can customize your yoga practice to suit -your- needs. For instance, when I log into Down Dog, I select not only Chair yoga, but I further customize my practice by asking for a session with no leg movement. When the session begins, not only is there a model on screen, demonstrating each pose as we go, but for those, like me, who have trouble seeing, or cannot see at all, there are vocal prompts, to guide you through each pose.
I started Down Dog at the end of September, with a free 3 month trial that was gifted to me. coincidently, just as my trial was ending, Down Dog’s holiday sale was ramping up. Thus for the low, low price of $20 I was able to procure a year’s long membership. At this point, Down Dog is part of my morning routine. I start each day with a 20 minute yoga session. Is yoga not your thing? No problem. Down Dog also offers Meditation, High Intensity Interval Training, Barre, which seems to be a ballet inspired workout program. They even offer prenatal yoga.
Want to give it a try? Link Below, as always.
