One headline is enough:
UK Labour competes with Conservatives over most business-friendly pro-austerity manifesto.
A manifesto, for those of you not familiar with the UK, is like a party platform in the US, but it's far more consequential, because party members pledge to support it.
The SNP was loudly and proudly on the left, anti-austerity, and it won 56 of 59 seats that it contested.
People don't want austerity. If you give them a choice, they will reject it every single time, everywhere around the world. Look at Greece. Look at Canada. Look at Japan. Look at France. Look at Sweden.
Whoever our nominee is in 2016, I hope he or she runs against austerity. It's bad politics and bad policy, and its time has ended.
