I just watched the Jon Stewart segment where I could hear Hillary Clinton lathering up her "southern accent" while giving a speech in South Carolina. I read about this earlier today, and even found some commenters defending her: "She is from Arkansas."
She's from the Chicago 'burbs (nothing wrong with that) and we do not talk like that. It's been over 20 years since we have had the opportunity to examine Hillary and grant her some positives, and now, in her latest segment her pandering is going off the charts.
It is a very cruel irony that someone, who many look to be the first female American president, is doubling up on the usual political pandering by merging it with a problematic female stereotype of women trying to placate everyone at their own expense.
John Kerry went there, when he donned the hunting drag, as if Tereza and he actually ate rabbits.
I'm just afraid the deeply cynical message is: it takes big money and making yourself the appropriate cartoon.
