Audio from a Weekend Edition NPR interview with Hillary Clinton in 1996 has been discovered. Among the highlights:
“My political beliefs are rooted in the conservatism that I was raised with.”
And:
“I’m very proud that I was a Goldwater girl.”
(As many of you know, Barry Goldwater opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act on states’ rights reasons.)
Yes, people “evolve,” but Bernie has always been a leader in the social democratic tradition. In contrast, Hillary was a “conservative” and “proud Goldwater girl” during the New Democrat years of the 1990s and is now a “progressive who gets things done” in 2016.
#WhichHillary is running in 2016? The “progressive who gets things done” or the 1996 “proud” Goldwater girl who warned us of “super predator” children?
